Juice Feasting How To’s

I recently did a 90 day juice feast under the expert guidance of David and Katrina Rainoshek of juicefeasting.com. I took pictures of the process of making the juices to help as a guide for those that would like to embark on a juice feast.

The method I used for making my juices was using a vita-mix for blending and then straining the pulp through a nut milk bag. This was the most quick and efficient way vs using an actual juicer which is far more time consuming.

I found that it helped to prep the fruits and veggies into groups and then blend them individually. I then would fill 3 mason jars with the blended juice building on the next. So for instance, I would start blending up celery juice, then cucumber, then greens, then finally fruit. There would be in the end, 4 layers of different juices added to each mason jar. Below are images of the process from start to finish:

Celery Juice:

Cucumber Juice:

Kale Juice:

Romaine Lettuce and Parsley juices:

Pear Juice:

Apple Juice:

Blueberry juice:

Watermelon and Mint Juice:

Pineapple Juice:

Cantelope and Mint Juice:

Now one can do the entire juice in one go and if you chose to do it that way, then the amounts should be as follows and put into the blender in the following order:

  • Fill the vita-mix container to about 1/3 full of chopped greens such as kale, spinach, romaine or swiss chard. Then add
  • 2 chopped stalks of celery
  • 1/3 chopped english cucumber
  • 2 chopped apples or pears, cores removed.
  • a nugget of fresh ginger
  • handfuls of herbs such as cilantro and/or mint
  • 1/2 lemon or lime, peel and all (optional)
  • finally, add 1 cup of water
  • Blend and strain through nut milk bag.
  • This will yield one mason jar size of juice.
